ISIS claimed responsibility for the coordinated attacks in Brussels that left 31 people dead and 300 wounded. Two suicide bombers attacked the departure lounge where people were boarding or preparing to board outgoing flights. Approximately one hour after the airport bombing, a suicide bomber boarded the subway and detonated the bomb at the end of rush hour.

Gail was a 41 year-old mother of four children. She was devoted to her family. Gail and her husband, Kato, a Lt Col in the Air Force, recently celebrated 21 years of marriage.
26 year-old Sascha graduated from Marymount Manhattan College with a Bachelor of Business Administration, Arts, Entertainment, and Media Management in 2014. Sascha was very close to her brother Alexander. She was at the Brussels airport with Alexander the day of the attack. Sascha was travelling back to New York to spend time with friends.
29 year-old Alexander had many friends. He was known to be very friendly and intelligent. Alexander was a dog lover and had an Instagram account that showcased his affection for these furry companions. Alexander was very close to his sister Sascha and was with her at the Brussels airport the day of the attack. Alexander was flying back to New York to attend a wedding with his beloved wife of two years, Cameron Cain.
37-year-old Adelma was the mother of four-year-old twin girls. Originally from Peru, Adelma had plans to open a Peruvian restaurant in Brussels with her Belgian husband. The family of four was at the Brussels Airport to catch a flight to New York when the explosion happened. Adelma's husband and daughters survived the attack.
20-year-old Leopold was a high-achieving law student at the Universite Saint-Louis in Brussels. His classmates described him as a good student who always sat in the front row. As a testament to the good person he was, Leopold's family decided to donate his organs.
50-year-old David was a British national and a computer programmer from Nottingham. After the first two blasts in the Brussels Airport, David texted his aunt to let her know he was safe. He was ultimately killed in the metro attack.
79-year-old Andre was a retired diplomat who at various times served as Belgium's ambassador to the United States, UK, Cuba, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Algeria. He finished his careet as the permanent representative of Belgium in the United Nations. He and his wife Danielle lived in southwest France and were en route to Miami, Florida when they were caught up in the attack at the Brussels Airport. His wife survived the attack.
41-year-old Elita was a single mother from the Netherlands. She was at the Brussels Airport to catch a flight to New York for her father's funeral when her life was ended in the explosion.
45-year-old Olivier, who worked at the Ministry of Education of Wallonia and Brussels, contradicted the stereotype of the typical civil servant. Colleagues described him as a deeply passionate worker who was warm, friendly, personable, and a bit of a jokester. Mr. Delespesse, who was single and never had children, treated his co-workers like family.
29-year-old Jennifer lived in Aachen, Germany and worked as a customer service coordinator at a clothing company. She and her husband, Lars Waetzmann, were at the Brussles Airport en route to New York where they had plans to celebrate their first anniversary of marriage. Jennifer did not survive the attack and her husband was badly wounded.
21-year-old Bart was a Belgian national studying marketing at the University in Brugge. He was at the Brussels Airport on his way to the United States where he had plans to spend a long-awaited visit with his American girlfriend in Atlanta, Georgia.
