

On June 12, 2016, hundreds of people were gathered at Pulse, a popular gay nightclub, for a night of dancing and socializing. At approximately 2:00 AM a radicalized ISIS supporter shot and killed 49 people and wounded 53 others. This attack is considered the deadliest shooting spree in the United States to date.

22 year-old Juan attended the University of Central Florida and was also employed as a telemarketer. Juan was at the Pulse nightclub with partner, Christopher Leinonen when they were both killed.

32 year-old Christopher was known as “Drew” by his friends and family. Drew was known to not only have a great sense of humor, he also had a caring heart and believed in equality for all.

Ambitious and goal-oriented Tevin was a 25 year-old business owner with an entrepreneurial spirit. He will be remembered by his positive attitude and drive for success.

40 year-old Javier, known as “Javi” by friends, was employed at Gucci where he worked as a salesman. His bright smile, sass, and beaming positivity will truly be missed by all who knew him.

22 year-old Luis studied emergency medical services at Seminole State College. He was employed by Universal Orlando Resort and worked on the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride.

Christopher was a 24 year-old bank worker in Tampa who was known for his positivity. He was extremely close with his family who is devastated by his loss.

Jason was an ambitious high-achiever. He accomplished much in his 19 years and had many interests including photography and computer science. He was known as an exceptional student with a very bright future ahead of him.

Jean, 35 was described as a very happy person. He worked for Perfumania, an Orlando outlet store. That is where he met the love of his life, Luis Daniel Wilson-Leon. They were at the Pulse nightclub to enjoy a night out together when they both lost their lives.

23 year-old Stanley was a pharmacy technician. He was a selfless and caring individual who touched the lives of everyone who knew him.

25 year old Amanda worked as a pharmacy technician and had plans on becoming a nurse. Over the past two years, she dedicated herself to health and wellness, proudly documenting her progress as she shed 180 pounds.

Mercedez, 26, was attending Valencia College in Orlando studying literature. She loved music and was at the Pulse nightclub for a night of dancing with her friend Amanda Alvear. Neither survived the attack.

31 year-old Jerald was an employee at Disney who always had a smile on his face. He went to the Pulse nightclub to help his friend, Cory James Connell, celebrate his 21st birthday on the night of the attack.

18 year-old Akyra hailed from Philadelphia and was a recent high school graduate. She planned to attend Mercyhurst University where she would have played basketball on a full scholarship.

Shane, 33, was the lead vocalist for the band, Frequency. His energy and charisma was apparent both on and off stage.

33 year-old Martin was a diligent, hardworking student on his way to becoming a pharmacy technician. He was known for his big smile and infectious energy.

34 year-old Eddie was employed as a national brand manager for a travel company that served the gay community. Eddie was an avid traveler and made friends wherever he went.

Simon, 26, was studying accounting at a bilingual college in Orlando. He and his partner, Oscar Aracena Montero, also killed in the attack at Pulse, had recently purchased a home together in Kissimmee.

Oscar, 31, was with his partner Simon A. Carrillo at Pulse nightclub. They had recently bought a home together and lived with their three Chihuahuas.

30 year-old Antonio was a captain of the U.S. Army Reserve and a graduate of Florida A&M University. He was a gentle soul who always looked out for his friends.

21 year-old Cory was a student at Orlando’s Valencia College. Cory was at Pulse nightclub celebrating his birthday at the time of the tragedy.

30 year-old Eddie was an accountant who had many friends and family who are devastated by his loss.

Darryl made a positive impact in the lives of all who knew him and even those who didn’t. He was very passionate about community service. The 29-year-old gave his time freely to people and organizations that needed it.

The words “love has no gender” was tattooed in script along 27 year-old Frank’s upper right arm. He managed a Calvin Klein clothing store, one of his favorite brands.

39 year old Luis always had a smile on his face and loved to make people laugh. He and his partner, Juan Pablo Riviera Velazquez, ran a beauty salon in Kissimmee. Both were killed in the attack. His cheerfulness and compassion will be missed by all who had the opportunity to know him.

37 year-old Juan was a hair stylist at a salon in Kissimmee which he ran with his partner, Luis Daniel Conde, also killed in the attack at Pulse. The couple was known for their kind hearts, always looking for ways to give. In addition to helping people look their best, their salon provided free services to victims of domestic violence.

Jonathan, 24, a native of Puerto Rico, moved to Orlando to work as an assistant producer for the children’s program, “La Voz Kids.” He was a selfless individual who tried to protect his friend Yilmary Rodriquez Solivan during the shooting.

Yilmary, known as Mary by her friends and family, was a 24 year-old mother of two boys. She was at the nightclub with her brother-in-law, William Sabad Borges, and friend, Jonathan Antonio Camuy Vega.

Deonka, 32, was going through a lot of personal changes at the time of her death. She had overcome traumatic events in her life and was making changes for the better. Her father lovingly described her as being very ambitious and driven.

25 year old Leroy worked as a leasing agent for an apartment complex in Orlando. He was an exuberant singer and dancer, always full of energy and life.

21 year-old Alejandro, originally from Cuba, always had a smile on his face. He will be remembered for his outgoingness and positivity.

25 year-old Juan was a kind-hearted, loving person employed at a hotel. He was extremely dedicated to his job and to his family.

Joel, 31, loved to dance. He worked hard for his money as a construction worker, sending as much as he could to support his family back in Mexico.

35 year-old Xavier was an energetic entertainer and a loving father to his 5 year-old son. He performed as a dancer at theme parks across Florida including Walt Disney.

Jean, 27 and originally from Puerto Rico, was the general manager of a cash checking store. He had just purchased his first home a month and a half before he was tragically killed in the attack at Pulse.

50 year-old Franky Jimmy Dejesus Velazquez preferred to be called Jimmy. In addition to his career as a Visual Merchandiser for Forever 21, Jimmy traveled around the world as a professional Jibaro dancer.

37 year-old Kimberly recently moved to Orlando from Hawaii to help her mother. She was a bouncer at the Pulse nightclub and was known to be a happy upbeat person.

Eric, 36 was nicknamed Shaki by his friends. He was married to his husband for about a year at the time of his death. He was very artistic and had a passion for design.

49 year-old Brenda was a two time cancer survivor and the mother of 11 children. She was at Pulse nightclub with her 21 year-old son, Isaiah Henderson, on the night of the attack. She heroically shielded Isaiah’s body from the gunfire, saving his life.

25 year-old Gilberto, originally from Puerto Rico, aspired to become a health care professional. He loved Saint Bernards and spent time as a handler for a dog named Malachi.

Luis, 37, was described as reserved, yet very loving person. He was a confidant to many and the protector of his long-time boyfriend Jean Carlos Mendez Perez.

28 year-old Angel was days away from starting his job as an ophthalmic technician at the Florida Retina Institute when he was killed. He was also a member of the National Guard and was working toward his license in nursing. Friends described him as humble and outgoing.

25 year-old Geraldo was known as Drake by friends. He was visiting Orlando from his home in Puerto Rico to attend a concert when he was tragically killed in the attack at Pulse.

Miguel was a 30 year-old father of three boys. He was a very dedicated father to his sons. He and his partner managed two restaurants in the Orlando area.

33 year-old Rodolfo was called Rodney by his friends and coworkers. He worked as a biologics supervisor at the OneBlood donation center, and will be remembered for his compassion and integrity.

41 year-old Paul was the loving father of two children, a talented musician and vocalist. He will be remembered for his smile and ambitious spirit.

25 year-old Anthony started dancing at the age of 10. He moved to Orlando with the goal of becoming a successful choreographer and dancer.

Enrique, 25, lived in Brooklyn, NY where he was the caretaker for his grandmother. He was studying social work and volunteered through a home care agency that served the elderly.

Luis was called Omar by his friends and family. At 20 years of age, he was a gifted dancer and much-loved barista for Starbucks.

22 year-old Peter was employed by UPS. Peter was known to be a happy person who people loved to be around.
